Seniors Zone

Connections for Seniors has launched The Seniors Zone, an online resource designed to make helpful information more accessible to older adults, families, caregivers, and community members.

Available at seniorszone.ca, The Seniors Zone brings together practical information and resources in one easy-to-navigate location. The platform is intended to help seniors find information about programs, community supports, services, and other resources that can help them remain informed, connected, and engaged.

The Seniors Zone also provides a useful starting point for family members and caregivers who may be helping an older adult navigate available services and supports.

By creating a centralized online resource, Connections for Seniors aims to make it easier for older adults to access relevant information at their own pace while strengthening connections between seniors and the communities and organizations that support them.

The Seniors Zone will continue to serve as a growing resource for seniors across Newfoundland and Labrador.

Connections for Seniors Celebrates Seniors Day at First Point

Connections for Seniors marked Seniors Day with a full day of activities at First Point, 30 Harvey Road, bringing older adults together for wellness, creativity, connection, and community engagement.

The day included Chair Yoga, offering participants a gentle and accessible way to stay active, followed by a Card Making session that encouraged creativity and social connection.

Guests also came together for lunch, providing an opportunity to relax, connect with others, and enjoy time in a welcoming community setting.

Later in the day, Andrew Safer joined us for a session focused on mindfulness and resilience, sharing practical perspectives on navigating change, managing stress, and supporting personal well-being.

The day concluded with a Volunteer Open House, where community members had the opportunity to learn more about Connections for Seniors, meet our team, and explore the many ways volunteers can support seniors through our programs and services.

Seniors Day was a valuable opportunity to celebrate older adults, encourage connection, and highlight the importance of creating welcoming spaces where seniors can remain active, engaged, and supported in their community.
